Abstract
A process for producing high yields of enantioselective amino acids and chiral amines by reacting a keto acid or ketone and an amino acid donor in the presence of a transaminase biocatalyst to produce a keto acid by-product and an amino acid or amine product. Further reacting the keto acid by-product with a peroxide to increase the yield of additional amino acid or amine product.
Claims14
A process for increasing the yield of amines in a transaminase reaction, the process comprising:
- a) providing a ketone substrate;
- b) providing an amino acid donor;
- and
- c) reacting the ketone substrate and the amino acid donor in the presence of a transaminase biocatalyst and a peroxide to increase the yield of an amine product compared to the same process without using a peroxide.
A process for increasing the yield of amines in a transaminase reaction, the process comprising:
- a) providing a ketone substrate;
- b) providing an amino acid donor;
- c) reacting the ketone substrate and the amino acid donor in the presence of a transaminase biocatalyst and a peroxide to produce a reaction mixture having a keto acid by-product and an amine product, wherein the amine product yield is increased compared to the same process without using peroxide.
A process for increasing the yield of amines in a transaminase reaction, the process comprising:
- a) providing a ketone substrate;
- b) providing an amino acid donor;
- and
- c) reacting the ketone and the amino acid donor in the presence of a transaminase biocatalyst and hydrogen peroxide to increase the yield of an amine product compared to the same process without using hydrogen peroxide.
