Abstract
A gas-liquid separator assembly has a flow passage providing expansion of and reduced flow velocity of the post-separation gas stream, and in some embodiments provides pre-escape regions facilitating partial pre-transition of some of the flow.
Claims20
A gas-liquid separator assembly comprising a housing having a flowpath therethrough from upstream to downstream, said housing having an inlet receiving a gas-liquid stream, and an outlet discharging a gas stream, a separator in said housing causing liquid particle separation from said gas-liquid stream at a separation zone, a first flow passage directing flow toward said separation zone, a second flow passage directing flow away from said separation zone, said second flow passage having an expanding volume as it extends away from said separation zone, facilitating expansion of and reduced flow velocity of said gas stream.
A gas-liquid separator assembly comprising a housing having a flowpath therethrough from upstream to downstream, said housing having an inlet receiving a gas-liquid stream, and an outlet discharging a gas stream, a separator in said housing causing liquid particle separation from said gas-liquid stream at a separation zone, a first flow passage directing flow toward said separation zone, a second flow passage directing flow away from said separation zone, a third flow passage directing separated gas from said second passage toward said outlet, wherein said first, second and third flow passages are bounded by and defined by first, second and third walls, respectively, said second wall has an end defining a transition zone from said second flow passage to said third flow passage, said second wall has a plurality of pre-escape regions facilitating partial pre-transition of some of the flow from said second flow passage to said third flow passage prior to reaching said transition zone at said end of said second wall.
A gas-liquid separator assembly comprising a housing having a flowpath therethrough from upstream to downstream, said housing having an inlet receiving a gas-liquid stream, and an outlet discharging a gas stream, a separator in said housing causing liquid particle separation from said gas-liquid stream at a separation zone, a first flow passage directing flow toward said separation zone, a second flow passage directing flow away from said separation zone, first and second walls bounding and defining said first and second flow passages, respectively, said second wall extending from a first end at said separation zone to a second scalloped end.
