Abstract
Fibrous materials and composites are disclosed.
Claims7
A method comprising:
- mechanically treating a lignocellulosic material selected from the group consisting of grasses, rice hulls, bagasse, cotton, jute, hemp, flax, bamboo, sisal, abaca, straw, corn cobs, coconut hair and mixtures thereof, to produce a mechanically treated material;
- and
- passing the mechanically treated material through a screen having an opening size of 3.175 mm (⅛ inch) or less, to provide a screened material;
- wherein the screened material has a BET surface area of at least 0.5 m2/g.
