Abstract
A sound wave generator includes a carbon nanotube structure. The carbon nanotube structure includes one or more drawn carbon nanotube films. The one or more drawn carbon nanotube films produce sound by means of the thermoacoustic effect.

An apparatus, the apparatus comprising:
- a signal device;
- a sound wave generator, the sound wave generator comprises a carbon nanotube structure, the carbon nanotube structure comprises one or more drawn carbon nanotube films;
- and the signal device is capable of transmitting a signal to the carbon nanotube structure, the carbon nanotube structure is capable of converting the signal into heat;
- transferring the heat to a medium in contact with the sound wave generator, and causing a thermoacoustic effect.

A sound producing device, the sound producing device comprising:
- a sound wave generator;
- the sound wave generator comprises a carbon nanotube structure, the carbon nanotube structure comprises one or more drawn carbon nanotube films, the drawn carbon nanotube film comprises a plurality of carbon nanotubes joined end to end by van der Waals attractive force therebetween;
- the one or more drawn carbon nanotube films are capable of producing sound while being stretched along a direction or being returned to the drawn carbon nanotube film's original non-stretched size;
- wherein the sound wave generator is capable of converting a signal into heat, transferring the heat to a medium in contact with the sound wave generator, and causing a thermoacoustic effect, and the stretching or the returning to the drawn carbon nanotube film's original non-stretched size is completely independent of and has minimal effect on the sound produced.

An apparatus, the apparatus comprising:
- a sound wave generator capable of producing sound waves, the sound wave generator comprises a carbon nanotube structure, the carbon nanotube structure comprises one or more carbon nanotube films, the carbon nanotube film comprises a plurality of carbon nanotubes joined end to end by van der Waals attractive force therebetween;
- wherein the one or more carbon nanotube films produces sound waves by repeated heating of a medium in contact with the sound wave generator.
