• 16) in an amount effective to kill the bacterium.

A method of killing a fungus of the Genera Candida or Cryptococcus, comprising contacting the fungus with one or more antimicrobial peptides chosen from WR12 (SEQ ID NO:

• and WR24 (SEQ ID NO:
• 16) in an amount effective to kill the fungus.

An isolated and purified peptide-cargo complex comprising a cargo and a peptide chosen from WR12 (SEQ ID NO:

• and WR24 (SEQ ID NO:
• 16).
