A trifunctional (meth)acrylate compound represented by general formula (I):
- wherein:
- M1, M2, and M3 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or a halogen atom;
- ring A1, ring A2, and ring A3 each independently represent a benzene ring, a cyclohexane ring, a cyclohexene ring, a naphthalene ring, a decahydronaphthalene ring, a tetrahydronaphthalene ring, or a phenanthrene ring, the —CH═ moiety of each of said rings is optionally displaced with —N═ or the —CH2— moiety of each of said rings is optionally displaced with —S— or —O—;
- at least one of ring A1, ring A2, and ring A3 is a naphthalene ring;
- Z1, Z2, and Z3 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, optionally substituted with a halogen atom or a cyano group, and optionally having a methylene group thereof interrupted by —O— or —CO—;
- X1, X2, and X3 each independently represent a single bond, —COO—, —OCO—, —(CH2)p—, —CH═CH—, —(CH2)pO—, —O(CH2)p—, —CH═CHCH2O—, —OCH2CH═CH—, —C≡C—, —(CH2)pCOO—, —OCO(CH2)p—, —(CH2)pOCO—O—, —OCO—O(CH2)p—, —(CH2)qO (CH2)rO—, or —O(CH2)qO(CH2)r—;
- Y1 and Y2 each independently represent -L1-, -L1O—, -L1O—CO—, -L1CO—O—, or -L1O—CO—O—;
- Y3 represents a single bond, -L2-, —OL2-, —O—COL2-, —CO—OL2-, or —O—CO—OL2-;
- L1 and L2 each independently represent an alkylene group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms optionally interrupted by one to three —O— linkages;
- a, b, and c represent the numbers of substituents on ring A1, ring A2, and ring A3, respectively, each independently being an integer of (2u+2) or smaller, wherein u is the number of 6-membered rings in each respective ring A1, ring A2, and ring A3;
- at least one of a, b, and c is an integer of 1 or greater;
- p represents an integer of 1 to 8;
- q and r each independently represent an integer of 1 to 3;
