Abstract
A dynamoelectric machine assembly for connection to a system controller. The assembly includes at least one input contact for receiving a control signal from the system controller and a processor coupled to the input contact. The processor is configured to operate the assembly in a pulse width modulation (PWM) mode when the control signal is a PWM control signal and to operate the assembly in a serial mode when the control signal is a serial communication signal.
Claims12
A dynamoelectric machine assembly for connection to a system controller, the assembly comprising:
- an input contact for receiving a control signal from the system controller;
- a processor coupled to the input contact, the processor configured to operate the assembly in a pulse width modulation (PWM) mode when the control signal is a PWM control signal and to operate the assembly in a serial mode when the control signal is a serial communication signal;
- and
- a four-contact connector for coupling the assembly to the system controller, the four-contact connector including said input contact, wherein the four-contact connector includes a first contact, a second contact, a third contact and a fourth contact, the first contact is the input contact, the second contact is an output contact for sending a data output signal from the assembly to the system controller, the third contact is a power input contact, and the fourth contact is a power return contact.
