Systems, methods, and products for presenting content

A system, comprising:

• a processor communicating with memory;
• the processor receiving programming content comprising a program and program control data, the program control data having a default setting followed by a data record comprising a rating value and a content attribute value;
• the processor receiving information related to program presentation preferences of a viewer to at least one of block and modify the program;
• when the rating value and the content attribute value are missing from the data record, and when the default setting at least one of equals and exceeds the program presentation preferences, then the processor does not allow modification of the program and the processor interprets an instruction to modify the program as an instruction to block the program from presentation.

Non-transitory processor readable memory storing instructions for performing a method, the method comprising:

• receiving programming content comprising a program and program control data, the program control data having a default setting followed by a data record comprising a rating value and a content attribute value;
• receiving information related to program presentation preferences of a viewer to at least one of block and modify the program;
• when the rating value and the content attribute value are missing from the data record, and when the default setting at least one of equals and exceeds the program presentation preferences, then not allowing modification of the program;
• and
• interpreting an instruction to modify the program as another instruction to block the program from presentation.
