Abstract
A system may include a graphics memory, a data bus, a processor, and a vertex shader. The data bus may be operatively connected to the graphics memory. The processor may send vertex data to the graphics memory via the data bus. The vertex shader may read the vertex data from the graphics memory and may subdivide the vertex data into subdivided vertex data. The vertex shader may also write the subdivided vertex data to the graphics memory.
Claims6
A method comprising:
- reading vertex data having a first resolution from a memory;
- reading normal data having a second resolution that is lower than the first resolution from the memory;
- and
- preparing the vertex data for display using the normal data.

An apparatus comprising:
- a memory;
- a first device to read vertex data having a first resolution from said memory and to read normal data having a second resolution that is lower than the first resolution from the memory;
- and
- said first device to prepare the vertex data for display using the normal data.
