Abstract
This invention provides hydroxybenzoic acids, their esters and analogues thereof that are useful for the prevention and/or treatment of virus infection such as HBV, papillomavirus and/or herpes virus infection.
Claims23
A method of treating or alleviating virus infection in a subject comprising administering to the subject a pharmaceutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition consisting essentially of a compound having the structure of Formula (I) below:
- Wherein, R is hydrogen or C1-11 alkyl;
- R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 are independently hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl, mercapto, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C2-6 alkynyl, C1-6 alkoxy, C1-6 alkyl-(C═O)—, C1-6 alkoxycarbonyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl-methyl, C2-6 heterocycloalkyl, C2-6 heterocycloalkyl-methyl, C6-10 aryl, C6-10 aryloxy, C5-10 heteroaryl, or C5-10 heteroaryloxy, and at least three of R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 are hydroxyl;
- and wherein the virus infection is papilloma virus infection.
A method of treating or alleviating a disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject a pharmaceutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition consisting essentially of a compound having the structure of Formula (I) below:
- Wherein, R is hydrogen or C1-11 alkyl;
- R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 are independently hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl, mercapto, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C2-6 alkynyl, C1-6 alkoxy, C1-6 alkyl-(C═O)—, C1-6 alkoxycarbonyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl-methyl, C2-6 heterocycloalkyl, C2-6 heterocycloalkyl-methyl, C6-10 aryl, C6-10 aryloxy, C5-10 heteroaryl, or C5-10 heteroaryloxy, and at least three of R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are hydroxyl;
- and wherein the disease is cervical diseases, skin or mucosal warts and is associated with HPV infection.
A method of killing or reducing the amount of virus in a sample comprising contacting said sample with an effective amount of a composition consisting essentially of a compound having the structure of Formula (I) below:
- Wherein, R is hydrogen or C1-11 alkyl;
- R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 are independently hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl, mercapto, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C2-6 alkynyl, C1-6 alkoxy, C1-6 alkyl-(C═O)—, C1-6 alkoxycarbonyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl-methyl, C2-6 heterocycloalkyl, C2-6 heterocycloalkyl-methyl, C6-10 aryl, C6-10 aryloxy, C5-10 heteroaryl, or C5-10 heteroaryloxy, and at least three of R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 are hydroxyl;
- and wherein the virus is papillomavirus.
