Abstract
A panel for a liquid crystal display including a substrate, and at least one spacer formed over the substrate. The at least one spacer has a tapered shape with an inclination angle in the range of about 20- about 70 degrees and a height in the range of about 2.5- about 5.0 microns.
Claims7
A manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display, comprising:
- providing a first panel having gate lines, data lines, thin film transistors, and pixel electrodes and a second panel;
- forming a plurality of spacers on one of the first panel and the second panel;
- coating a sealant on one of the first panel and the second panel;
- providing liquid crystal material on one of the first panel and the second panel, which is coated with the sealant;
- assembling the first panel and the second panel,
- wherein the spacers are located to overlap the data lines, and
- wherein the spacers have a compression deformation equal to or larger than about 0.40 microns in response to about 5 gf.
