Abstract
An antimicrobial material suitable for use in a compressive bandage is provided. Also, a composition that is used to produce this material and the methods for production are provided.
Claims10
An elastic antimicrobial material comprising synthetic elastic fibers woven with absorbent fibers and at least one biocidal agent,
- wherein the at least one biocidal agent is applied to the fibers after they are formed and is adhered to the fibers by a polymer,
- wherein a concentration of the at least one biocidal agent on the fibers is from about 0.01 mg/cm2 to about 0.1 mg/cm2, and
- wherein the elastic antimicrobial material maintains antimicrobial efficacy after two wash/dry cycles.
