Abstract
Adhesive compositions comprising epoxy resins, including epoxy novalac resin, and at least one reactive multi-functional acrylate. In preferred embodiments, the compositions also include amine-curing agent having at least one a cyclic group. The adhesive compositions according to the present invention are capable of enhancing the bonding strength of the adhesive, particularly at relatively high temperatures, such as at about 80° C.
Claims15
A curable adhesive composition for anchoring materials in or to concrete or masonry comprising:
- a curable epoxy resin;
- from about 5 parts by weight based on active components participating in the curing of the composition to about 30 parts by weight based on active components participating in the curing of the composition of reactive multifunctional acrylates comprising at least two different multifunctional acrylates, wherein one of the at least two different multifunctional acrylates consists of three acrylate functionalities and the other of the at least two different multifunctional acrylates consists of five acrylate functionalities, the weight ratio of said curable epoxy resin to said multifunctional acrylates being from 1.2:1 to about 5:1 and the weight ratio of the multifunctional acrylate consisting of three acrylate functionalities to the multifunctional acrylate consisting of five acrylate functionalities being in the range from 0.05:1 to 1:1;
- and
- curing agent.
