Abstract
A gene polymorphism on a Toll-like receptor gene is analyzed and an inflammatory disease is examined based on the results of the analysis. A remedy for an inflammatory disease is screened by selecting a substance capable of altering the interaction between Toll-like receptor and galectin-2.
Claims1
A method for diagnosing an increased risk of myocardial infarction comprising:
- analyzing single nucleotide polymorphisms of a Toll-like receptor 1 gene that are polymorphisms of a nucleotide corresponding to the nucleotide at position 201 of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 or of a nucleotide corresponding to the nucleotide at position 197 of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, and diagnosing an increased risk of myocardial infarction based on a result of the analysis.
