Abstract
A device for preventing electrical shock from a device with electrical interfaces. A shutter or other barrier associated with the device that physically prevents access or contact to one of the electrical interfaces while another electrical interface is in use.
Claims18
A continuous glucose monitoring system, the system comprising:
- a continuous glucose monitoring device having an end portion and at least two electrical interfaces located on the end portion and accessible from the outside of the device, wherein each of the at least two electrical interfaces is associated with a different function of the device;
- a barrier configured to connect to the device;
- and
- a cable configured to connect to the device and to connect the device to a second device, to a power source, or to both a second device and a power source,
- wherein the barrier comprises a shroud having a cavity configured to cover the end portion of the device and to cover the at least two electrical interfaces, wherein the barrier is configured to block a first of the electrical interfaces of the device and configured to not block a second of the electrical interfaces of the device when the barrier is connected to the device.
