Abstract
A computer implemented method, system and computer program product for delivering published messages to at least one subscriber in a publish-subscribe messaging system. A computer implemented method for delivering published messages to a subscriber includes receiving a plurality of message streams, and analyzing at least one message from each of the plurality of message streams in accordance with criteria established by the subscriber specifying a message content and a message content quality. At least one message that satisfies the criteria is delivered to the subscriber.
Claims14
A computer implemented method for delivering published messages to a subscriber, the computer implemented method comprising the steps of:
- sampling, by a broker of a plurality of brokers, a plurality of published message streams from multimedia sources, wherein the broker is included in a publish-subscribe messaging system that includes the plurality of brokers, a plurality of publishers, and a plurality of subscribers, and wherein the multimedia sources are two or more of the plurality of publishers;
- determining, by the broker, that two or more of the sampled plurality of published message streams from the multimedia source are comparable;
- analyzing, by the broker, message samples that are determined to be comparable from the two or more of the sampled plurality of published message streams from the multimedia source, wherein the analyzing is based on a criteria established by the subscriber, the criteria specifying a multimedia message content and a multimedia message content quality, and wherein the analyzing includes performing a multimedia analysis consisting of one of an image and an audio analysis;
- determining, by the broker, whether the comparable message samples satisfy the criteria established by the subscriber based on the analyzing;
- responsive to a determination that the comparable message samples do not satisfy the criteria, repeating, by the broker, the analyzing of message samples that are determined to be comparable and the determining whether the comparable message samples satisfy the criteria until one or more of the comparable message samples are determined to satisfy the criteria;
- ranking, by the broker, the comparable message samples that satisfy the criteria;
- selecting, by the broker, one or more top ranked comparable message samples that satisfy the criteria;
- ordering, by the broker, the selected top ranked comparable message samples;
- and
- delivering, by the broker, at least the selected top ranked comparable message samples to the subscriber.
A computer program product stored on a non-transitory computer readable medium for delivering published messages to a subscriber, the computer program product comprising:
- computer usable program code configured for sampling, by a broker of a plurality of brokers, a plurality of published message streams from multimedia sources, wherein the broker is included in a publish-subscribe messaging system that includes the plurality of brokers, a plurality of publishers, and a plurality of subscribers, and wherein the multimedia sources are two or more of the plurality of publishers;
- computer usable program code for determining, by the broker, that two or more of the sampled plurality of published message streams from the multimedia source are comparable;
- computer usable program code configured for analyzing, by the broker, message samples that are determined to be comparable from the two or more of the sampled plurality of published message streams from the multimedia source, wherein the analyzing is based on a criteria established by the subscriber, the criteria specifying a multimedia message content and a multimedia message content quality, and wherein the analyzing includes performing a multimedia analysis consisting of one of an image and an audio analysis;
- computer usable program code configured for determining, by the broker, whether the comparable message samples satisfy the criteria established by the subscriber based on the analyzing;
- computer usable program code configured responsive to a determination that the comparable message samples do not satisfy the criteria, for repeating, by the broker, the analyzing of message samples that are determined to be comparable and the determining whether the comparable message samples satisfy the criteria until one or more of the comparable message samples are determined to satisfy the criteria;
- computer usable program code configured for ranking, by the broker, the comparable message samples that satisfy the criteria;
- computer usable program code configured for selecting, by the broker, one or more top ranked comparable message samples that satisfy the criteria;
- computer usable program code configured for ordering, by the broker, the selected top ranked comparable message samples;
- and
- computer usable program code configured for delivering, by the broker, at least one message that satisfies the criteria the selected top ranked comparable message samples to the subscriber.
A data processing system for delivering published messages to a subscriber, comprising:
- a bus system;
- a storage device connected to the bus system, wherein the storage device stores instructions;
- and
- a processing unit connected to the bus system, wherein the processing unit executes the instructions to perform a method, the method comprising:
- sampling a plurality of published message streams from multimedia sources, wherein the data processing system is one of a plurality of brokers included in a publish-subscribe messaging system that includes the plurality of brokers, a plurality of publishers, and a plurality of subscribers, and wherein the multimedia sources are two or more of the plurality of publishers;
- determining that two or more of the sampled plurality of published message streams from the multimedia source are comparable;
- analyzing message samples that are determined to be comparable from the two or more of the sampled plurality of published message streams from the multimedia source, wherein the analyzing is based on a criteria established by the subscriber, the criteria specifying a multimedia message content and a multimedia message content quality, and wherein the analyzing includes performing a multimedia analysis consisting of one of an image and an audio analysis;
- determining whether the comparable message samples satisfy the criteria established by the subscriber based on the analyzing;
- responsive to a determination that the comparable message samples do not satisfy the criteria, repeating the analyzing of message samples that are determined to be comparable and the determining whether the comparable message samples satisfy the criteria until one or more of the comparable message samples are determined to satisfy the criteria;
- ranking the comparable message samples that satisfy the criteria;
- selecting one or more top ranked comparable message samples that satisfy the criteria;
- ordering the selected top ranked comparable message samples;
- and
- delivering at least the selected top ranked comparable message samples to the subscriber.
A computer implemented method for delivering published messages to at least one subscriber, comprising:
- receiving, by a broker of a plurality of brokers, criteria from each of the at least one subscriber specifying a multimedia message content and a multimedia message content quality, wherein the broker is included in a publish-subscribe messaging system that includes the plurality of brokers, a plurality of publishers, and a plurality of subscribers;
- receiving, by the broker, a plurality of published message streams from a multimedia source;
- sampling, by the broker, a plurality of published message streams from multimedia sources, wherein the multimedia sources are two or more of the plurality of publishers;
- determining, by the broker, that two or more of the sampled plurality of published message streams from the multimedia source are comparable;
- analyzing, by the broker, message samples that are determined to be comparable from the two or more of the sampled plurality of published message streams from the multimedia source, wherein the analyzing is based on a criteria established by the subscriber, the criteria specifying a multimedia message content and a multimedia message content quality, and wherein the analyzing includes performing a multimedia analysis consisting of one of an image and an audio analysis;
- determining, by the broker, whether the comparable message samples satisfy the criteria established by the subscriber based on the analyzing;
- responsive to a determination that the comparable message samples do not satisfy the criteria, repeating, by the broker, the analyzing of message samples that are determined to be comparable and the determining whether the comparable message samples satisfy the criteria until one or more of the comparable message samples are determined to satisfy the criteria;
- ranking, by the broker, the comparable message samples that satisfy the criteria;
- selecting, by the broker, one or more top ranked comparable message samples that satisfy the criteria;
- ordering, by the broker, the selected top ranked comparable message samples;
- and
- delivering, by the broker, at least the selected top ranked comparable message samples to the subscriber.
