Vehicle information display

An information display system for a vehicle, said information display system comprising:

• an interior rearview mirror assembly disposed in an interior cabin of a vehicle equipped with said information display system, wherein said interior rearview mirror assembly comprises a mirror reflective element having a minor reflector disposed at a surface thereof;
• wherein said minor reflector comprises a transflective mirror reflector;
• a display screen disposed at said interior rearview mirror assembly, wherein, when operated, said display screen displays through said transflective mirror reflector of said minor reflective element so as to be viewable by a driver of the equipped vehicle;
• wherein said display screen is operable to display video images captured by a rearward facing camera of the equipped vehicle for assisting the driver during a reversing maneuver, and wherein said video images are captured by said rearward facing camera when the equipped vehicle is in reverse gear;
• wherein, when the equipped vehicle is not in reverse gear, said display screen is operable to display information pertaining to an accessory of the equipped vehicle;
• wherein said display screen is operable to at least one of (a) display said information pertaining to an accessory responsive to a user input and (b) automatically display said information pertaining to an accessory responsive to a triggering event;
• and
• wherein said information pertaining to an accessory comprises at least one of (a) text pertaining to the accessory, (b) an icon pertaining to the accessory, (c) an image pertaining to the accessory, (d) an animation pertaining to the accessory and (e) a video clip pertaining to the accessory.

An information display system for a vehicle, said info nation display system comprising:

• an interior rearview mirror assembly disposed in an interior cabin of a vehicle equipped with said information display system, wherein said interior rearview mirror assembly comprises a mirror reflective element having a mirror reflector disposed at a surface thereof;
• wherein said mirror reflector comprises a transflective mirror reflector;
• a display screen disposed at said interior rearview mirror assembly, wherein, when operated, said display screen displays through said transflective mirror reflector of said mirror reflective element so as to be viewable by a driver of the equipped vehicle;
• wherein said display screen is operable to display video images captured by a rearward facing camera of the equipped vehicle for assisting the driver during a reversing maneuver, and wherein said video images are captured by said rearward facing camera when the equipped vehicle is in reverse gear;
• wherein, when the equipped vehicle is not in reverse gear, said display screen is operable to display information pertaining to an accessory of the equipped vehicle;
• and
• wherein said display screen is operable to at least one of (a) display said information pertaining to an accessory responsive to a user input and (b) automatically display said information pertaining to an accessory responsive to a triggering event.

An information display system for a vehicle, said information display system comprising:

• an interior rearview mirror assembly disposed in an interior cabin of a vehicle equipped with said information display system, wherein said interior rearview mirror assembly comprises a mirror reflective element having a mirror reflector disposed at a surface thereof;
• wherein said mirror reflector comprises a transflective mirror reflector;
• a display screen disposed at said interior rearview mirror assembly, wherein, when operated, said display screen displays through said transflective mirror reflector of said mirror reflective element so as to be viewable by a driver of the equipped vehicle;
• wherein said display screen is operable to display video images captured by a rearward facing camera of the equipped vehicle for assisting the driver during a reversing maneuver, and wherein said video images are captured by said rearward facing camera when the equipped vehicle is in reverse gear;
• wherein, when the equipped vehicle is not in reverse gear, said display screen is operable to display information pertaining to an accessory of the equipped vehicle;
• and
• wherein said information pertaining to an accessory comprises information pertaining to at least one of (a) a communication system, (b) a garage door opener, (c) a phone, (d) a video device, (e) a compass system, (f) a navigation system, (g) a tire pressure monitoring system and (h) a computer.
