Dynamic representations of processes

A computer program product, tangibly stored on one or more machine readable media, for representing a project, the product comprising instructions that cause a programmable system including at least one programmable processor to convert a description of the project into display instructions for performing operations, the operations comprising:

• accessing a description of the project, wherein the description of the project includes information, in an electronically accessible format, about an actual rate of progress and an expected rate of progress of at least a portion of the project;
• comparing an actual rate of progress and an expected rate of progress of at least a portion of the project and thereby determining a relative rate of progress of at least the portion of the project;
• generating a graphic display on a display device, the graphic display indicating the determined relative rate of progress of at least the portion of the project;
• and
• dynamically updating the relative rate of progress indicated on graphic display on the display device in response to a change in the description of the project.
