Treatment of stroke with an antibody specific to IL-20, e.g., monoclonal antibody 7E.

A method of treating ischemic stroke, said method comprising identifying a subject who has ischemic stroke, and administering to the subject an antibody specific to IL-20, wherein the anti-IL-20 antibody contains a VH region including all the complementarity-determining regions in the VH region of mAb 7E and a VL region including all the complementarity-determining regions in the VL region of mAb 7E, wherein mAb 7E is produced by the hybridoma cell line deposited with the American Type Culture Collection as Deposit Number PTA-8687.
