The present invention provides compounds of formula (I), thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidines, having fungicidal activity.

A compound of Formula (I):
- wherein R1 is selected from Cl, alkoxy, hydroxy, cyano, carbonylalkoxy, alkythio, and sulfonylalkyl;
- R2 is selected from H, Cl, Br, F, I, C1-C8 alkyl, C3-C8 alkenyl, C3-C8alkynyl, and carbonylalkoxy;
- wherein A is NH—R″;
- and
- wherein R″ is selected from the rings:

- wherein R1 is selected from Cl, Br, F, I, C1-C8 alkoxy, hydroxy, cyano, carbonylalkoxy, alkythio, and sulfonylalkyl;
- R2 is selected from H, Cl, Br, F, I, C1-C8 alkyl, C3-C8 alkenyl, C3-C8alkynyl, and carbonylalkoxy, wherein A is 1,3-Dihydro-2H-isoindol-2-yl;
- and
- wherein the point of attachment is the N atom of the N-containing ring.
