Abstract
Propargylamine, propargylamine derivatives including N-propargyl-1-aminoindan, enantiomers and analogs thereof, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, are useful for prevention or treatment of cardiovascular disorders, diseases and conditions.

A method for reducing apoptosis resulting from myocardial infarction in a subject in need thereof, said method comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of S(−)—N-propargyl-1-aminoindan or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
A method for reducing apoptosis and cardiac myocyte cell death following onset and as a result of myocardial infarction in a patient in need thereof, said method comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of S(−)—N-propargyl-1-aminoindan or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
