Abstract
Provided are processes for culturing cells derived from embryonic retinoblast cells immortalized by adenovirus E1 sequences, such as PER.C6® cells, to improve product yields from such cells. Feed strategies for such cells and cultures with very high cell densities are provided, resulting in high yields of products, such as recombinant antibodies.
Claims7
A method comprising:
- culturing human embryonic retina cells immortalized by adenovirus E1 sequences at a density of at least 40×106 viable cells/ml in a serum-free suspension culture of the cells,
- exchanging the serum-free suspension culture medium thereof at a rate of at least about 0.2-3 culture volumes/day, and
- maintaining said density of cells for at least 5 five days without a cell bleed.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
