Claims13
An inset glenoid implant comprising a body portion having (i) a smooth concave lateral articulating surface adapted to be engaged by a humeral component, (ii) a medial surface adapted for positioning within a circular cavity reamed in the glenoid, (iii) a peripheral edge in the shape of a circle having a diameter circumferentially surrounding the body portion, and (iv) a central peg extending coaxially from the center of the medial surface, wherein the body in its entirety is cylindrically shaped and, when implanted, the peripheral edge of the glenoid implant is completely circumferentially surrounded by cortical bone of the glenoid.
