Flexible package with opening feature

A flexible package comprising:

• a top surface, a bottom surface spaced from the top surface, and at least one side wall;
• the top surface and the bottom surface each being connected to the at least one side wall such that the top surface, the bottom surface and the at least one side wall together define an interior volume of the package, said top surface having a length, a width, and a peripheral edge defined at least in part by the connection of the top surface to the at least one side wall, said top surface further having an opening therein in spaced relationship with the peripheral edge of said top surface;
• a covering device for the opening, said covering device being secured to the top surface of the package and being at least in part separable from the top surface to permit access to the interior volume of the package via the opening in said top surface, said covering device having a length of greater than zero and less than the length of the top surface and further having a width of greater than zero and less than the width of the top surface;
• at least one first personal care absorbent article contained within the interior volume of the package, wherein the at least one first personal care absorbent article is selected from the group consisting of sanitary napkins, incontinence pads, interlabial pads, tampons, diapers, training pants, and incontinence undergarments;
• and
• at least one disposable bag for receipt and disposal of the at least one first personal care absorbent article following use of the at least one first personal care absorbent article, the at least one disposable bag being releasably secured to the covering device for conjoint movement with the covering device relative to the top surface of the package upon separation of the covering device from said top surface, the at least one first personal care absorbent article being unsecured to the covering device and separate from the at least one disposable bag.
