Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for preparing dithionite solution with a reaction wherein sodium bisulfite is reduced with sodium borohydride solution to obtain dithionite, wherein the rise of the pH of the solution is prevented by adjusting the pH with carbon dioxide.

A method for preparing dithionite solution, comprising reducing sodium bisulfite with sodium borohydride solution in the absence of liquid or gaseous sulfur dioxide to obtain dithionite, wherein a rise of the pH of the solution is prevented by adjusting the pH with carbon dioxide.
