Abstract
A method for installing an interior structure for a mobile platform is provided. The method includes carrying a lightweight collapsible frame through a man-door of a mobile platform while the collapsible frame is in a collapsed state. The collapsed frame is then expanded to provide at least a portion of a load bearing frame for a mobile platform interior structure. A plurality of interchangeable panels are removable attached to the collapsible frame to form interior surfaces of the mobile platform interior structure.
Claims11
A method of assembling an interior structure for a mobile platform, said method comprising:
- expanding a pair of folding end sections of a lightweight collapsible frame to move at least a pair of side section of the collapsible frame from a stowed position to a deployed position to form at least a portion of a structural load bearing frame for a mobile platform interior structure,
- each end section including a folding top rail and a folding bottom rail fixedly coupled to a pair of end rails,
- each side section including a top rail and a bottom rail fixedly coupled to a pair of end rails, and at least one racking rail diagonally connected between the respective side section top rail and bottom rail, the side section end rails longitudinally hingedly connected to the end rails of the folding end sections;
- and
- removably attaching a plurality of interchangeable panels to each of the folding end sections and each of the side sections independently.
A method of assembling an interior structure for a mobile platform, said method comprising:
- expanding a pair of folding end sections of a lightweight collapsible frame to move at least a pair of side section of the collapsible frame from a stowed position to a deployed position to form at least a portion of a structural load bearing frame for a mobile platform interior structure,
- each end section including a folding top rail and a folding bottom rail fixedly coupled to a pair of end rails,
- each side section including a top rail and a bottom rail fixedly coupled to a pair of end rails, and at least one racking rail diagonally connected between the respective side section top rail and bottom rail, the side section end rails longitudinally hingedly connected to the end rails of the folding end sections;
- coupling opposing ends a cross beam configured to a center portion of opposing folding end section bottom rails of the collapsible frame when the collapsible frame is in the deployed state;
- and
- removably attaching a plurality of interchangeable panels to each of the folding end sections and each of the side sections independently.
