Containment extension and processing system and method

A system for processing material stored in an underground storage tank having a tank riser, the system comprising:

• a mobile processing module including a flexible connection system having a first end that sealingly attaches to the mobile processing module and a second end that sealingly and releasably attaches to the underground storage tank riser, such that the flexible connection system provides a sealed fluid passageway between the tank and the mobile processing module;
• deployable means for extracting material stored from the underground storage tank into the mobile processing module, wherein the deployable means are deployed through the flexible connection system;
• separator means disposed in the processing module fluidly connected to receive the extracted material from the underground storage tank;
• and
• a control module disposed remotely from the processing module, and connected to the processing module such that deployment of the deployable means for extracting material and the separator means are controllable from the control module;
• wherein the deployable means for extracting material comprises a submersible pump and a flexible hose.

A system for processing material stored in an underground storage tank having a tank riser, the system comprising:

• a mobile processing module including a flexible connection system having a first end that sealingly attaches to the mobile processing module and a second end that sealingly and releasably attaches to the underground storage tank riser, such that the flexible connection system provides a sealed fluid passageway between the tank and the mobile processing module;
• deployable means for extracting material stored from the underground storage tank into the mobile processing module, wherein the deployable means are deployed through the flexible connection system;
• separator means disposed in the processing module fluidly connected to receive the extracted material from the underground storage tank;
• and
• a control module disposed remotely from the processing module, and connected to the processing module such that deployment of the deployable means for extracting material and the separator means are controllable from the control module;
• wherein the separator means comprises an evaporator, and the mobile processing module further comprises a condenser that receives and condenses vapor from the separator means and further comprising a chiller module that is connected to circulate a chilled fluid to the evaporator.

A system for processing material stored in an underground storage tank having a tank riser, the system comprising:

• a mobile processing module including a flexible connection system having a first end that sealingly attaches to the mobile processing module and a second end that sealingly and releasably attaches to the underground storage tank riser, such that the flexible connection system provides a sealed fluid passageway between the tank and the mobile processing module;
• deployable means for extracting material stored from the underground storage tank into the mobile processing module, wherein the deployable means are deployed through the flexible connection system;
• separator means disposed in the processing module fluidly connected to receive the extracted material from the underground storage tank;
• and
• a control module disposed remotely from the processing module, and connected to the processing module such that deployment of the deployable means for extracting material and the separator means are controllable from the control module;
• wherein the separator means comprises an evaporator with a demister, and the mobile processing module further comprises a condenser that receives and condenses vapor from the separator means.
