Braking device of measuring instrument and measuring instrument

A braking device of a measuring instrument comprising a body case and a spindle that penetrates the body case to be axially and reciprocably displaceable and includes a probe at a first end, the braking device comprising:

• a cylinder of which a first end is attached to a body case for accommodating a second end of a spindle;
• a piston provided on the second end of the spindle and accommodated to be reciprocably displaceable within the cylinder;
• a closing member provided on a second end of the cylinder to form a damper chamber between the piston and the closing member;
• a shaft that is opposite to the spindle by interposing the piston therebetween and penetrates the closing member;
• and
• an operating section provided on a distal end of the shaft, wherein
• a clearance is provided between the closing member and the shaft for circulating air between the damper chamber and an outside, and
• the closing member is displaceable in an axial direction of the shaft and contactable to a second end surface of the cylinder.
