Abstract
A decorative surface covering includes a fabric; and a layer of molded resin disposed on said fabric, where the resin is molded into decorative features of the covering. A method of forming a decorative surface covering includes molding resin disposed on a fabric to produce decorative features, the resin adhering to the fabric.
Claims22
A method of forming a decorative surface covering, said method comprising molding resin disposed on a net fabric to produce decorative features, said resin adhering to said net fabric, wherein said resin is molded at discrete locations over a surface of said net fabric.
A method of forming a decorative surface covering, said method comprising:
- disposing said resin on a net fabric;
- disposing said net fabric in a mold, wherein said net fabric is heat resistant so as to avoid damage to said net fabric during a molding process;
- molding said resin disposed on said net fabric into desired patterns and shapes, said resin adhering to said net fabric;
- and
- removing said covering from said mold
- wherein the weave of said net fabric is selected based on the size of the resin piece being molded to affect the flexibility of said covering.
