Abstract
The present invention can print out operating instructions, HELP documents, the latest image forming apparatus information, support and maintenance information, advertisements about new models and services, and the like without incrementing a charging counter. Without caring about the charging, users can print out operating instructions, HELP documents, the latest image forming apparatus information, support and maintenance information, advertisements about new models and services, and the like.
Claims7
An image forming apparatus to form an image on an image forming medium by concurrently incrementing a charging counter, comprising:
- a scanner which reads a document to produce image data;
- a printer which forms an image on the image forming medium;
- a storage section which stores information regarding the image forming apparatus, which is to be provided for a user;
- a key operation section including a copy instruction key for use in causing the printer to form an image corresponding to the image data produced by the scanner, and a printing instruction key for use in causing the printer to print out the information regarding the image forming apparatus which is stored in the storage section;
- and
- a processor which causes the printer to form the image corresponding to the image data produced by the scanner, while incrementing the charging counter, in accordance with an operation of the copy instruction key, and which causes the printer to print out the information regarding the image forming apparatus which is stored in the storage section, without incrementing the charging counter, in accordance with an operation of the printing instruction key.
