Thermoplastic matrix/compound, comprising 40 to 99.9 wt.-% thermoplastic polymer and 0.1 to 60 wt.-% silanised, structurally modified, pyrogenically produced silica having dimethylsilyl and/or monomethylsilyl groups fixed to the silica surface, wherein the structural modification took place with a ball mill or a continuously operating ball mill.
