Abstract
The present invention relates to cleaning compositions and methods employing a water soluble magnesium compound. Such compositions can be used for reducing scale, rinsing, hard surface cleaning, ware washing, and corrosion inhibition.
Claims13
A method of cleaning a hard surface comprising:
- contacting the surface with an aqueous composition comprising:
- water comprising a calcium ion;
- about 1 wt-% to about 60 wt-% of a water soluble magnesium salt;
- and
- a hydroxycarboxylated chelating agent;
- such that the surface is cleaned, wherein the aqueous composition during contacting comprises magnesium ion in a molar amount equal to or in excess over a molar amount of said calcium ion, and comprises a molar ratio of said magnesium ion to hydroxycarboxylated chelating agent of 1:3 and wherein the aqueous composition is substantially free of a threshold agent, and a phosphate or phosphate containing compound.
