Abstract
A method of providing compressive force to a person. In one embodiment, a first level of compression is applied adjacent the axillae of the person, a second level of compression is applied to a side torso region of the person, and a third level of compression is applied to a chest region of the person. The second level of compression is greater than the first level of compression and the third level of compression is greater than the fourth level of compression. The compression may be applied using a compression garment having one or more layers of compression fabric. The garment may be configured using specific compression fabric to provide the desired levels of compression to various regions of the torso of a person.
Claims25
A method of providing compressive force to a person having axillae, a side torso region and a chest region, comprising:
- applying a first non-zero level of compression adjacent the axillae with a layer of a compression fabric positioned adjacent at least one of the axillae;
- applying a second level of compression to the side torso region at the same time as the first level of compression, wherein the second level of compression is greater than the first level of compression;
- and
- applying a third level of compression to the chest region at the same time as the first and second levels of compression, wherein the third level of compression is greater than the second level of compression.
A method of providing compressive force to a torso of a human, the method comprising:
- applying a first level of compression adjacent one or more axillae of the human;
- applying a second level of compression to a back region of the human at the same time as the first level of compression, wherein the second level of compression is greater than the first level of compression;
- applying a third level of compression to a side torso region of the human at the same time as the first and second levels of compression, wherein the third level of compression is greater than the second level of compression;
- and
- applying a fourth level of compression to a chest region of the human at the same time as the first, second, and third levels of compression, wherein the fourth level of compression is greater than the third level of compression.
A method of providing compressive force to a person using a compression garment, the method comprising:
- applying a first level of compression adjacent one or more axillae of the person using a compression garment having one or more axilla gussets that include a compression fabric;
- applying a second level of compression to a back region of the human using the compression garment, wherein the second level of compression is greater than the first level of compression and is applied at the same time as the first level of compression;
- applying a third level of compression to a side torso region of the human using the compression garment, wherein the third level of compression is greater than the second level of compression and is applied at the same time as the first and second levels of compression;
- and
- applying a fourth level of compression to a chest region of the human using the compression garment, wherein the fourth level of compression is greater than the third level of compression and is applied at the same time as the first, second, and third levels of compression.
