Abstract
A system for designing a circuit, which includes a module, uses a computer. A user may program or adapt the computer to perform computer-aided design functions. The computer obtains a description of the module from the user. The computer parses the description of the module to identify a port of the module, and to obtain information about the port. The computer presents to the user the information that it has obtained about the port.
Claims24
A method for computer-aided design of a programmable logic circuit including a module, the method comprising:
- obtaining a description of the module and information regarding a bus;
- parsing by a computer the description of the module and the information regarding the bus to identify a port of the module and to obtain information about the port;
- displaying the information about the port;
- and
- generating an interface between said bus of said programmable logic circuit and the module based on the information obtained about the port.
A system for computer-aided design of a programmable logic circuit including a module, the system comprising:
- a computer configured to:
- obtain a description of the module and information regarding a bus;
- parse the description of the module and the information regarding the bus to identify a port of the module and to obtain information about the port;
- display the information about the port;
- and
- generate an interface between said bus of said programmable logic circuit and the module based on the information obtained about the port.
A computer program product, comprising:
- a computer application for computer-aided design of a programmable logic circuit including a module, said computer application being processable by a computer for causing the computer to:
- obtain a description of the module and information regarding a bus;
- parse the description of the module and the information regarding the bus to identify a port of the module and to obtain information about the port;
- display the information about the port;
- and
- generate an interface between said bus of said programmable logic circuit and the module based on the information obtained about the port.
