Abstract
Systems and methods for the passive measurement of spectral lines from the absorption or emission by polar molecules. The system includes mmW front-end assembly, back-end electronics, and data acquisition hardware and software was assembled. The method relates to methods for processing multi-channel radiometric data from passive mmW detection systems.
Claims10
A method for processing terrestrial millimeter waves of target molecules, comprising:
- receiving millimeter waves from a sample containing the target molecules and a reference;
- acquiring data via switching between the sample and the reference;
- and
- processing acquired data by:
- normalizing the amplitude;
- subtracting the frequency domain scene;
- integrating in the time domain;
- and
- subtracting out the time domain baseline;
- wherein the detection sensitivity is in the milli-Kelvin range.
