Abstract
The present invention relates to new proteins of Leishmania major and to therapeutical and diagnostic applications thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to excreted/secreted polypeptides and polynucleotides encoding same, compositions comprising the same, and methods of diagnosis, vaccination and treatment of Leishmaniasis.
Claims10
An isolated polynucleotide consisting of a sequence encoding an excreted/secreted polypeptide of Leishmania major, said sequence having SEQ ID NO:1 or said sequence having at least 95% identity to SEQ ID NO:1.
A genetically modified, transformed, Leishmania major strain comprising at least one gene having a sequence comprising SEQ ID NO:1 wherein said at least one gene is inactivated.
A genetically modified, transformed, Leishmania major strain comprising at least one gene having a sequence comprising SEQ ID NO:1 wherein said at least one gene is expressed.
