Abstract
Substituted alditol or carbohydrate compounds having a specified general formula are provided. A method for synthesizing such substituted alditol or carbohydrate compounds is also provided.
Claims8
A compound having the general formula:
- wherein n is 0, 1, or 2;
- R is independently selected from the group consisting of alkoxy groups, hydroxyl alkyls, and alkyl-halides, and the hydroxyl alkyls are selected from the group consisting of —CH2CHX′″CH2OH and —CHOHCHOHCH2OH, where X′″ is a halide.
A compound having the general formula:
- wherein n is 0, 1, or 2;
- and
- R is an alkenyl group having 5 or more carbons.
