In one embodiment, a method for preparing a selectively releasable adhesive includes condensing a multifunctional alcohol and a multifunctional carboxylic acid to form a prepolymer and curing the prepolymer at an elevated temperature and a vacuum to produce a cured polymer.
Claims20
A method for preparing a selectively releasable adhesive, the method comprising:
- condensing a multifunctional alcohol and a multifunctional carboxylic acid to form a prepolymer;
- and
- curing the prepolymer at an elevated temperature and a vacuum for a time period not exceeding 20 hours to produce a cured polymer adhesive that has inherent adhesive strength and therefore adheres to objects to which it is applied.
