Abstract
A composition for treating cancer cells and a preparation method therefor are provided. The novel flavonoid compounds are obtained from natural plants, and more particularly the compounds have a cytotoxicity on cancer cells.
Claims2
A method for obtaining one or more isolated flavonoid compounds comprising the steps of:
- providing a dried Thelypteris torresiana plant;
- extracting the dried plant with methanol to provide a methanol extract and drying the methanol extract;
- extracting the dried methanol extract with ethyl acetate to provide a second extract;
- and
- separating and isolating the one or more flavonoid compounds from the second extract.
