Abstract
According to a metal joining method of the present invention, first and second dissimilar metals are joined together by interposing between the first and second metal materials a third metal material dissimilar to the first and second metal materials and causing eutectic melting at least either at an interface between the first and third metal materials or at an interface between the second and third metal materials.
Claims9
A method for joining first and second dissimilar metal materials, comprising:
- interposing between the first and second metal materials a third metal material dissimilar to the first and second metal materials;
- and
- holding the first, second and third metal materials at a given temperature with an application of a pressure so as to break or rupture an oxide film of a surface of the second metal material by plastic deformation in the second metal material and cause a eutectic melt to form between the second and third metal materials, wherein said holding includes discharging the eutectic melt together with the oxide film from between the first and second metal materials such that the first and second metal materials are joined directly together at clean surfaces thereof.
