Abstract
N-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-1-phenoxy-4H-quinolizin-4-one-3-carboxamide is effective for treating IBS. In addition, IBS may be effectively treated with N-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-1-phenoxy-4H-quinolizin-4-one-3-carboxamide when used concomitantly with at least one of various serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonists.

A method for treating irritable bowel syndrome, which comprises administering an effective amount of N-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-1-phenoxy-4H-quinolizin-4-one-3-carboxamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to a patient in need thereof.
A method for treating irritable bowel syndrome, which comprises administering an effective amount of N-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-1-phenoxy-4H-quinolizin-4-one-3-carboxamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and at least one 5-HT3 receptor antagonist to a patient in need thereof.
