Abstract
The invention provides an OLED device comprising a cathode, an anode, and having therebetween a layer containing an acridone compound including a diarylamine or carbazole substituent where the nitrogen of the acridone and the nitrogen of the diarylamine or carbazole are connected by an aromatic hydrocarbon linking group. OLED devices of the invention exhibit improved efficiency and drive voltage.
Claims12
An OLED device comprising a cathode, an anode, and having therebetween a layer containing an acridone compound wherein the acridone compound is according to the following formula:
- wherein:
- R1 and R2 are substituents;
- x and y are independently 0 to 4;
- L is a linking group consisting of an unbroken chain of 6 to 36 aromatic, olefinic or acetylenic carbon atoms;
- and
- Ar1 and Ar2 are independently aromatic groups of 6 to 30 carbon atoms or are connected together to form a carbazole group.
