Abstract
Compositions are provided comprising at least one conductive polymer and at least one non-polymeric fluorinated organic acid, salt or ester, wherein the conductive polymer is selected from a polythiophene, a polypyrrole, a polyaniline, and combinations thereof. Electronic devices and applications having at least one layer comprising such compositions are further provided.
Claims20
A composition comprising at least one doped conductive polymer and at least one non-polymeric fluorinated organic acid, salt or ester, wherein the conductive polymer is selected from the group consisting of a polythiophene, a polypyrrole, a polyaniline, and combinations thereof, wherein said non-polymeric fluorinated organic acid, salt or ester comprises at least one fluoroether organic acid, salt or ester having the following general formula,
- R5—O—R4-Q,
- wherein R4 is an alkylene group, R5 is an alkyl group, and are the same or different at each occurrence,
- Q is selected from —SO3Z, —CO2Z, and —PO3Z,
- Z is H, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, N(R5)4, or R5,
- any of R4 and R5 may, independently, be unsubstituted or substituted, and
- the prefix “fluoro” means that at least one hydrogen of R4 or R5 has been replaced by fluorine, and includes partially fluorinated and perfluorinated.
A composition comprising at least one doped conductive polymer and at least one non-polymeric fluorinated organic acid, wherein the conductive polymer is selected from the group consisting of a polythiophene, a polypyrrole, a polyaniline, and combinations thereof;
- and wherein said non-polymeric fluorinated organic acid is a fluoroether sulfonic acid having Formula V:
- R7—(O—CF2CFRf)a—O—CF2CFR′fSO3H (V)
- wherein R7 is a fluoroalkyl group, Rf and R′f are independently selected from F, Cl or a perfluorinated alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and a=0, 1 or 2.
