Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for the selective hydrogenation of the carbon-carbon double bonds in a diene-based polymer latex using a water-soluble catalyst and simultaneously a water-insoluble co-catalyst.
Claims33
A process for selectively hydrogenating carbon-carbon double bonds in a diene-based polymer comprising subjecting a diene-based polymer which is present in latex form to a hydrogenation in the presence of a water-soluble rhodium containing catalyst and a water-insoluble co-catalyst, but in the absence of any organic solvent.
