Processes for producing polymer blends and polymer blend pellets

A process for the production of a polymer blend comprising:

• (a) providing a first stream comprising a first polymer comprising at least 75 wt. % of propylene-derived units that is at least partially dissolved in at least one solvent to a devolatilizer, where the temperature in the devolatilizer is from about 180° C. to about 220° C.;
• (b) subjecting the first stream to a vacuum force of from 0.01 kPa to 7 kPa in the devolatilizer such that at least 30 wt. % of the solvent is removed from the first stream;
• (c) providing to the devolitilizer a second stream consisting of second polymer selected from the group consisting polypropylene, low density polyethylenes, a high density polyethylenes, polyamides, polycarbonates, and polyesters;
• and
• (d) forming a blend of the first polymer and the second polymer in the devolatizer,
• wherein all of the at least one solvent is provided to the mixer in the first stream, wherein the solvent is a mixture of C4-C9 acyclic and cyclic hydrocarbons, and wherein the blend comprises about 15 to about 95 parts by weight of the first polymer, about 0.01 to about 47.5 parts by weight of the second polymer, and about 5 to about 85 parts by weight of the at least one solvent.
