Abstract
The invention discloses the nanoparticles composed of chitosan, poly-γ-glutamic acid, and at least one bioactive agent characterized with a positive surface charge and their enhanced permeability for paracellular drug delivery.
Claims20
A pharmaceutical composition of nanoparticles wherein the nanoparticles enhance paracellular transport of at least one bioactive agent, each nanoparticle consisting of:
- a) at least one bioactive agent,
- b) low molecular weight chitosan, and
- c) a negatively charged organic compound,
- wherein the low molecular weight chitosan dominates the surface of the said nanoparticle, and
- wherein the negatively charged organic compound is complexed with a substantial portion of said low molecular weight chitosan.
2 more elements
The pharmaceutical composition of claim, 1, wherein the at least one bioactive agent is an antiviral agent.
