Abstract
A preformed, self adhering single ply roofing membrane including a water impermeable membrane; a pressure sensitive, hot melt adhesive adhered to one side of the water impermeable membrane, and a release liner on the side of the pressure sensitive, hot melt adhesive opposite of the water impermeable membrane.
Claims25
A membrane product capable of adhering to a roof deck, said membrane product having two primary exterior surfaces, said membrane product comprising:
- a) a single-ply roofing membrane;
- and
- b) a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive that is free of curing additives, said pressure sensitive adhesive exhibiting a peel strength of at least 0.5 pounds per linear inch at 70° F. when measured in accordance with ASTM D3300,
- said adhesive layer having a thickness of no more than 15 mils, said adhesive layer directly contacting at least a portion of one side of said single-ply roofing membrane, and said single-ply roofing membrane constituting one of said two primary exterior surfaces of said membrane product.
A membrane product capable of adhering to a roof deck, said membrane product having two primary exterior surfaces, said membrane product comprising:
- a) a single-ply roofing membrane having a thickness of from 45 to 90 mils;
- and
- b) a layer of hot-melt pressure sensitive adhesive that is free of curing additives, said pressure sensitive adhesive exhibiting a peel strength of at least 0.5 pounds per linear inch at 70° F. when measured in accordance with ASTM D3300,
- said adhesive layer having a thickness of no more than 15 mils, said adhesive layer directly contacting at least a portion of one side of said single-ply roofing membrane, and said single-ply roofing membrane constituting one of said two primary exterior surfaces of said membrane product.
A membrane product having two primary exterior surfaces, said membrane product comprising:
- a) a single-ply roofing membrane having a thickness of from 45 to 90 mils;
- b) a layer of hot-melt pressure sensitive adhesive that is free of curing additives, said pressure sensitive adhesive exhibiting a peel strength of at least 0.5 pounds per linear inch at 70° F. when measured in accordance with ASTM D3300;
- and
- c) a release liner disposed on said pressure sensitive adhesive layer, wherein each of said single-ply roofing membrane and said release liner constitutes a primary exterior surface of said membrane product, wherein said adhesive layer has a thickness of from 4 to 15 mils, and wherein said adhesive layer directly contacts at least a portion of one side of said single-ply roofing membrane.
