Abstract
An apparatus comprising a controller. The controller includes an input/output (I/O) module and a rule module. The I/O module is configured to present a question for a patient when communicatively coupled to a user interface and receive patient information in response to the question via the user interface. The rule module is configured to apply a rule to the patient information and generate a suggested insulin pump setting from application of the rule. Other devices, systems, and methods are disclosed.
Claims51
A device comprising:
- a controller including:
- an input/output (I/O) module configured to:
- present a question for a patient when communicatively coupled to a user interface;
- and
- receive patient information in response to the question via the user interface;
- a rule module configured to:
- apply a rule to the patient information;
- and
- generate a device determined insulin pump setting from application of the rule;
- and
- a rule development module configured to receive modifications to the rule via the I/O module.
An apparatus comprising:
- means for presenting a question for a patient using a device;
- means for receiving patient information into the device in response to the question;
- means for applying a rule to the patient information;
- means for receiving modifications to the rule via the I/O module;
- and
- means for generating a suggested insulin pump setting from application of the rule.
A method comprising:
- presenting a question for a diabetic patient using a device;
- receiving patient information into the device in response to the question;
- applying a rule to the received patient information to generate a device-determined insulin pump setting;
- and
- changing, according to user input, the rule used to generate device-determined settings.
A computer readable medium with instructions therein, which when processed result in a device:
- presenting a question for a patient;
- receiving patient information into the device in response to the question;
- applying a rule to the received patient information to generate a device-determined insulin pump setting;
- and
- changing, according to user input, the rule used to generate device-determined settings.
