## Abstract

An extension cord comprising of at least two electrical conductors; a female electrical socket; and an anchor operably connected to the electrical conductors, the anchor including first and second members defining first and second voids, respectively, the first and second members having a first position wherein the first and second voids are substantially adjacent and a second position wherein the first and second voids are coplanar.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An extension cord comprising:
at least two electrical conductors;
a female electrical receptacle in electrical communication with the at least two electrical conductors and arranged to receive electrical contacts from a male plug; and
an anchor operably connected to the electrical conductors, the anchor including first and second members defining first and second voids, respectively, the first and second members having a first position wherein the first and second voids are substantially adjacent and a second position wherein the first and second voids are substantially and simultaneously coplanar and non-coinciding.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The extension cord of claim 1 comprising a male electrical plug electrically connected to the at least two electrical conductors.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The extension cord of claim 1 wherein the first and second voids are defined as holes.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The extension cord of claim 1 wherein the female electrical receptacle includes a housing and the first and second members are operatively connected to the housing.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The extension cord of claim 4 wherein the first and second members are pivotally connected to the housing.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

The extension cord of claim 4 wherein the female electrical receptacle and the anchor form a tear-drop shape.

### Claim 7 (depends on 4)

The extension cord of claim 4 wherein the first member and the second member engage the housing with a snap fit when in the first position.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The extension cord of claim 7 wherein the first member and the second member engage the housing with a snap fit when in the second position.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The extension cord of claim 1 comprising at least two intermittently spaced female electrical receptacles having a housing and anchor operatively connected to the housing.

### Claim 10

An extension cord comprising:
a male electrical plug;
at least two electrical conductors in electrical communication with the male electrical plug;
at least two female electrical receptacles intermittently spaced along the at least two electrical conductors, each of the at least two female electrical receptacles having a housing; and
each of the at least two female electrical receptacles having an anchor, each anchor including first and second members defining first and second voids, respectively, the first and second members having a first position wherein the first and second voids are substantially adjacent and a second position wherein the first and second voids are coplanar.

### Claim 11

A method of mounting an extension cord on a surface wherein an anchor is operatively connected to an electrical conductor, the anchor having first and second members, each member defining a void, the method comprising:
pivoting the first and second anchor members into a position in which the voids are substantially and simultaneously coplanar and non-coinciding; and
mounting the anchor to the surface by positioning a mounting member through at least one of the voids defined in the first or second members when the first and second anchors are in the position.
