Abstract
A monoclonal antibody or fragment thereof, capable of specifically binding to at least one epitope of sH2a and/or being elicited by at least one epitope, and assays, kits, and methods of use thereof diagnosing liver disease or condition, detecting liver function and assessing the efficacy of therapy to a liver disease.
Claims9
A method of testing liver function in a subject, the method comprising:
- (a) detecting a level of sH2a in a biological sample of the subject;
- and
- (b) comparing said level of sH2a with a level of sH2a in samples from normal subjects,
- wherein detecting a level of said sH2a in said sample above or below a level of sH2a in normal subjects is indicative of abnormal liver function, and wherein said sH2a comprises an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:2.

A method of testing liver function in a subject at risk for liver disease, the method comprising:
- (a)obtaining a biological sample from a subject at risk for liver disease;
- (b)detecting a level of sH2a in said biological sample of said subject;
- and
- (c) comparing said level of sH2a with a level of sH2a in samples from normal subjects,
- wherein detecting a level of said sH2a in said sample above or below a level of sH2a in normal subjects is indicative of abnormal liver function, and wherein said sH2a comprises an ammo acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:2.
